Senator Nelson was invited to Live Oak by the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Live Oak to speak about the potential stop.<\/p>\n
Nelson said he has fond memories of riding Amtrak trains. When he was a young boy, he would ride the train from Jacksonville to Marianna to visit family in Chipley.<\/p>\n
Nelson said there are a number of things Live Oak can do to persuade Amtrak to come.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will want you to come to Washington and give testimony and in addition, I will get Amtrak representatives to come here to see you as well,\u201d Nelson said.<\/p>\n
In the meantime, Nelson said Live Oak should work on their message and statistics to convince Amtrak Live Oak is a good location for a stop.<\/p>\n
